Fly Fishing Tips!
Mending Your Line
Certainly one of the tricks in fly fishing is presenting your flies to the fish in the most natural fashion possible. Particularly when presenting two flies underwater, it is critical the nymphs suspend themselves and flow naturally with the current rather than being dragged awkwardly across the flow of water. This unnatural behavior of the nymphs will likely confuse or alarm most fish and result in few bites. Therefore, it is important a proper mending technique be employed to maximize your fishing enjoyment.
The streams current is usually fastest down the center. A slight flip of your right hand after your cast has landed on the water should result in the fly line looping upstream and, therefore, allowing your flies to drift underwater more naturally rather than being pulled across the current in an unnatural fashion. Practice and master this simple move and you will catch far more fish!
